Zamak Alloy

The production of Zafre Freddi Group Srl department is made entirely of zamak, a zinc alloy referred to be versatile, flexible and economical. Its name is an acronym for the metals which the alloy is composed of: mainly zinc, aluminum contained in small percentage as curing agent main effect, Magnesium and Copper (Kupfer) that increase ductility. It has excellent castability and over time it retains its strength and hardness better than other alloys.

The accessories for taps proposed by Zafre, as well as all items produced in zamak, offer a good impact and wear resistance and thanks to the galvanic treatments operated on, corrosion resistance is increased, which in itself is already very good.
Unlike other also more expensive and heavy metals or alloys, such as brass, the characteristic ductility of the zinc alloy allows the design of small details already at time of die casting, this allows cutting down production costs required for example to carry out working of threading, broaching, etc.
Finally the complete recyclability, the absence of toxic or harmful emissions at the time of melting and lower melting temperature, make zamak a less polluting material than other metals.
